Dollhouse Opens Friday February 13 @ 9PM

Fox have announced their winter schedule, and in doing so have revealed that “Dollhouse” will air on Fridays from February 13 at 9PM. This means that it will have “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” as it’s lead-in, instead of being paired on Monday night’s with “24”, as originally thought.

Robert Seidman over at TVByTheNumbers is not so optimistic about the prospect of the Friday night slot:

I still don’t anticipate good numbers for these shows on Fridays, and it looks like Fox didn’t think enough of Dollhouse to air it after American Idol (which will still be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

However, Page 48 in the comments, makes an interesting point about how savvy audiences are these days when it comes to watching their favourite TV shows:

FOX has decided Friday night will be “Dollhouse” night, although, frankly I don’t know what difference time slots make anymore anyway, with so many options available to watch whatever you want, whenever you want.

Personally I would have liked to have seen Dollhouse have either “24” or “Idol” as it’s lead-in, as I know how helpful the “House” lead-in has been for “Fringe”, whilst the show establishes itself. That said, I’m sure many would-be viewers will check out Dollhouse regardless of the time-slot, at least for a few episodes, whilst they make up their minds over whether it’s for them or not. I’m glad that DVR ratings count for something these days!

Also, Summer Glau followed by Amy Acker – not bad, eh!

Thanks to Page 48 for the heads-up!
