This episode is about as good and epic as television (or should we say DVD?) can get.

The child did an amazing job. Did you even get that she carries Carolines mind in her body and is hoping to find her true self alive? (I was expecting a comment like 'this little girls is so much better than Eliza' here) I honestly would have never expected that Dollhouse can be this good; this episode alone rules out the whole first season and leaves us with so much to hope for in season 2.

@canon: The episode is canon, but the flashbacks within the episode don't have to be necessarily true, because they are just memories...

I've decided not to watch that, but the episode has been definitely been getting some positive buzz.

Yeah, she wasn't "bad" per se. I just wasn't feeling the pretentiousness of the overly used 'wise child' card. That said, without context it's difficult to feel any connection towards a scene, so I may feel differently when I get round to watching the episode.

Thanks for the clarification - so I guess whatever happens, the series will have to build up to "Epitaph One". This might cause some inflexibility with the storytelling, considering 1.13 was probably written with cancelation in mind..

The actress is Adair Tishler (Molly from Heroes), and I thought she did her job very well.

I think this ending deserves it's tear inducing moments, since the whole episode really builds up nicely towards this.

And to answer your question: This episode is canon, but Season 2 will not continue after it. S2 will tell the tale after "Omega", and the show will slowly build towards this episode (although apparently there is a scene in 2x01 that shows us the E1-world... a flash-forward of some kind). Also, not everything depicted in this ep can be taken for granted.
