Site Update – Comments System Fixed

by admin on May 21, 2008 · 2 comments

Hey folks,

It’s just come to my attention that the comments system has not been operable – probably since I started this blog. D’oh! Apologies if you have been trying to leave a comment and been hit with an error message. I’ve now looked into the problem and resolved it, so all comments should get through from now on.

So if you have anything to say about anything posted on the blog and the show itself – whether it’s positive or negative or inbetween –  then feel free to share your thoughts – this blog will only be as good as the show and the ‘’ community!

Also, if you notice any teething problems or errors pages, links not working etc, please feel free to let me know so that I can iron out any kinks in the system. I also hope to improve the blog and the interface the closer we get to January!

Cheers! 🙂

The last few seasons have been hard on TV viewers, beginning with the abrupt cancellation of “Alias”, and followed up by last season’s strike induced chaos.

“Bionic Woman” looked like a no-brainer, considering the “Battlestar Galactica” connections. How it could be as bad as it was, when it had blue-sky potential is beyond most BW supporters. However, it was bad and now it’s gone so moving on is all we can do.

This season (and let’s hope we’re back to full 22 eppie seasons) has me really excited, because of 2 new shows, “Fringe” and “Dollhouse”.

I’m jacked about “Fringe”, because I know what JJ and his “Alias” writers are capable of and the 3 or 4 clips I’ve seen make me want to watch the debut TONITE, not August 26th.

Until January, I never really knew who Joss Whedon was. That’s when I decided to check out “Firefly”, having read many rave reviews online. I started with “Serenity”, the feature film and loved that so much that I breezed through the much-to-brief series in a few days. Buffy wasn’t really my thing, although, in fairness, I only watched 2 or 3 eppies.

Now, with news of “Dollhouse”, all I can think of is please please let this be as good as “Firefly”. I like the idea that Tim Minear is involved, and, like many, I hope that Whedon will invite some familiar faces to guest on this show.

I understand that we’re likely to see stand-alone eppies, which is disappointing for serial nuts like me, but “Firefly” was stand-alone as well, except for the River Tam thread running through it, and, to a lesser extent, the slowly evolving story of Shepherd Book, but the show worked well and I loved it, and I could have watched 10 seasons of that kind of television. May we get that with “Dollhouse”, and if Mal and Zoe happen to drop in once in a while, all the better.

Hey Page 48, thanks again for the headsup on the comments system!

I noticed that alot of DH fans are already worried that Dollhouse will get cancelled by FOX – not because the show sounds bad, but because of the networks reputation for early cancellations in the past. Like you I thought Bionic Woman was a cert to succeed. I’m still shocked at how they messed the whole thing up. However I’m confident that the writing/acting (etc) on DH will be so great that FOX will have no reason to pull the plug. Fingers crossed, huh!

I’m also hyped for Fringe – I love JJ’s work and can’t wait for the show to begin in August. I’m already on the look out for the viral marketing which is sure to accompany the show – as it does with most JJ-related productions.

Yup, it looks like stand-alone episodes for DH – which will probably suit the ever-changing persona of “Echo”? But like you, I do want an over-arching mythology/story-thread, so hopfully the two styles can be incorportated? I hear this is what JJ abrams is doing with Fringe!
